E Learning

At Holy Cross Catholic School, children have access to Ipads, Ipods, Chromebooks and desktop computers throughout the school to motivate and enhance their learning.

In Years 5-8 children are required to bring their own devices and the use of these technologies are integrated to maximise learning. Students feel they have ownership of their learning, providing opportunities to pose questions and inquire into their world, and enabling students to present and share information in new and exciting ways. They are excited about their learning and enjoy working in their different learning areas within their classrooms.

We have used the key competencies from the NZC and linked it to our Holy Cross Digital Citizenship

This year, 2015, our goal is to get the community involved by setting up class Blogs for the whole school and individual student Blogs for the Senior students. Parents are able to access the class and their own child’s blogs to connect with their child’s learning. This helps to strengthen the partnership with home and school.
