24th August 2020

Dear Parents and Whanau,

We have just heard that we will move from Level 3 to Level 2 on Sunday, 30th August at 11.59pm, which means that our school will be open for all students from Monday 31st August.

As we did before in Level 2, it means that the school grounds will be closed to our parents and caregivers, and the morning drop off time is from 8.30am and after-school our students will be released from the three exits from 2.45pm.

  • If your child is in the Juniors, or your youngest child is in the Juniors, the children will exit from the top Junior gate.

  • If your youngest child is from the Middles (Rooms 8-13 and 21), they will exit by the steps near the hall.

  • If you only have Senior children (Rooms 11, 14-18), they will exit from rear exit in carpark.

These measures are in place to avoid overcrowding.

While the school office will be open, it is only one person in at a time and if you have the Covid Tracer App, please use the Covid QR code which we have displayed on the office doors.

I want to thank all parents, who are essential workers, for your promptness in dropping off and picking up your children while we have been in Level 3.

God bless and we look forward to seeing your children back next week.

Please email me if you have any queries.

Ngā manaakitanga,

Janice Borsos

14th August 2020

Dear Parents and Whanau,

I had hoped the emails concerning Covid-19 were over. Following on from the Government’s announcement at 5.30pm this evening, Auckland is staying at Lockdown Level 3 until the 26th August 2020.

This means that school is closed for most children for the next 12 days.

ALL teachers will provide on-line learning from Monday through Seesaw, just like we did previously. You will also a link with a suggestion of other activities that your child can be doing. Please click here for the Holy Cross Home Learning information.

Please be aware that school at level 3 is available for children of Essential Workers only, and where there is no one else to stay at home with them. The children that attended during this week we already know about however if for some reason they are not coming to school next week, or are having a day off, please email me. If you need to contact the school because you are an Essential Worker, please email me at as the school office is closed.

Once again, please don’t worry about your child regressing with their school work. When we are back in the classroom, learning will resume as usual.

Please look after your own mental health and your children’s. We are all in this journey together and this too will pass.

You may find this link useful for supporting your wellbeing Also the Ministry of Health has a specific Getting Through Covid Together Campaign which is worth a visit.

Please remember that if you have any flu-like symptoms, please phone Healthline on 0800 358 5453 or contact your own doctor immediately. Say YES to the Test

Take care and God Bless

Janice Borsos
